Removal
Remove cooling fan from radiator. Refer to RADIATOR : Removal & Installation.
Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal. Refer to RADIATOR : Removal & Installation.

ELECTRIC WATER PUMP : Removal & Installation
Removal
WARNING:
When Li-ion battery and other high voltage component parts are hot, do not remove reservoir tank cap. Hot water may blow out and cause serious injury.
ELECTRIC WATER PUMP (Electric power train cooling system)
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Remove front left side only of front fender protector, turn over little to make the work easier.
Meantime, remove electric water pump harness connector from electric water pump.
Remove radiator hose lower from electric water pump.
Remove radiator hose lower (between traction motor inverter and electric water pump) from electric water pump.
Remove electric water pump.
Remove radiator hose lower ASSY (between traction motor inverter and electric water pump), if necessary.
ELECTRIC WATER PUMP (Li-ion battery cooling system)
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Disconnect water cooler inlet hose from electric water pump.
Remove front right side only of front fender protector, turn over little to make the work easier.
Remove reservoir tank.
Remove reservoir tank hose and water cooler inlet hose.
Remove water cooler inlet hose right from electric water pump.
Remove electric water pump.
Remove electric water pump bracket 1,if necessary.
Installation
Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
-
Be sure to perform air bleeding properly after refilling coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Refilling.

LI-ION BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM : Removal & Installation
REMOVAL
WARNING:
Never remove the reservoir tank cap if the drive motor or other high voltage part is hot. Hot coolant may spout out from the radiator, causing serious injury.
RESERVOIR TANK
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Remove the reservoir tank mounting bolt, and move the reservoir tank to the front of the Nissan Ariya vehicle.
Disconnect the reservoir tank hose from the reservoir tank, and remove the reservoir tank.
WATER COOLER INLET HOSE
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Disconnect the water cooler inlet hose from the reservoir tank hose.
Disconnect the water cooler inlet hose from the electric water pump and the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY right, and remove the water cooler inlet hose.
ELECTRIC WATER PUMP INLET TUBE ASSY RIGHT
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Remove the front tire assembly RH. Refer to ROAD WHEEL TIRE : Removal & Installation.
Disconnect the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY right from the LI-ION battery side hose.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY right mounting bolt and water hose bracket 4 mounting bolt.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY right from the water cooler inlet hose.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY cover right.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY right.
ELECTRIC WATER PUMP INLET TUBE ASSY LEFT
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Remove the front tire assembly LH. Refer to ROAD WHEEL TIRE : Removal & Installation.
Disconnect the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY left from the LI-ION battery side hose.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY leftt mounting bolt and water hose bracket 4 mounting bolt.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY left from the water cooler inlet hose.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY cover left.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube ASSY left.
ELECTRIC WATER PUMP INLET TUBE
Drain coolant. Refer to COOLANT : Draining.
Remove the water cooler inlet hose from the electric water pump.
Remove the front suspension member. Refer to FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER : Removal & Installation.
Remove the water cooler inlet hose right.
Remove the water cooler inlet hose left.
Remove the electric water pump inlet tube.
INSTALLATION
Note the following, and install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Be sure to perform air bleeding properly after refilling coolant.
WATER HOSE
-
When inserting the radiator hose and water hose , insert all the way until it contacts double spool
, or it contacts the end.
-
Refer to the following table when installing the hose clamps.

When installing hose clamp
, check that the distance "A" between the end of the radiator hose paint mark and the hose clamp is within the specified range.
LI-ION BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM : Inspection
INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
-
Check radiator for coolant leakage with radiator cap tester (commercial service tool).
Refer to COOLANT : Inspection.

Start the electric pump, and check the joints for coolant leakage.
