Normal Operating Condition

Symptom Description

Symptoms Check items Solution
Immediate charge cannot be performed. There is no power coming to outlet.

Check that there is a public power supply failure or the breaker is on.

NOTE:

  • If an outlet or charge station equips a timer device, power only be available at the time set by the timer.

  • In a multi-story car park, the power does not turn on until the parking lot stows. The power may be turned off while the elevator is operating.

The outlet plug is not connected correctly. Check the outlet plug for proper connection.
The charge connector is not connected correctly. Check the charge connector for proper connection.
Both the normal charge connector and the quick charge connector are connected.

Disconnect normal charge connector or quick charge connector.

NOTE:

Normal charge and quick charge cannot perform at the same time.

Timer charge is set. Press immediate charge switch.
Li-ion battery is already fully charged.

No action taken.

NOTE:

Charge is not performed if Li-ion battery is already fully charged.

12V battery is discharged. Charge the 12V battery.
Since ground of outlet side is not satisfied Nissan's recommended work, genuine Nissan EVSE cannot be used. Check lighting status of the indicator lamp of control box while connecting to the outlet where symptom occurred. If "READY" is blinking, check with a contractor about status of ground work done on outlet side.
Old standard charge cable is used. Use latest charge cable
Timer charge cannot be performed. There is no power coming to outlet.

When both of start time and end time of the timer charge are set :

  • Time at present is before the set start time.

  • Time at present is after timer charge stops.

Check set time for starting timer charge and present time.
The time on the clock is wrong.

Check that time shown on the navigation display.

NOTE:

If the 12V battery terminal is disconnected, the time setting must be updated after communication with GPS.

Immediate charge switch is pressed If the immediate charge switch is pressed again while the charge cable is connected, Standby state is started until the timer start time and the started immediate charge can be cancelled. If timer charge still does not work, check the immediate charge switch system.
Timer charge is not set. Set the timer charge schedule

Communication with the Nissan Ariya vehicle cannot be established. Confirm that there is a cellular signal in your location. Remote charge can not be started unless the web enabled smart phone can connect to the intent.
Confirm that there is a cellular signal at the Nissan Ariya vehicle location.
The vehicle is left standing for long time.

Set the Nissan Ariya vehicle to READY.

NOTE:

If the power switch is in the OFF position for more than 2 weeks, the remote charge is not performed.

EVSE is not connected Connect EVSE
Release switch of charge connector is pressed

Cancel the release switch.

NOTE:

When the release switch is pressed for certain period, charge is stopped.

Timer charge end time has come.

Press immediate charge switch.

NOTE:

When timer charge is set and the charge end time comes, charge is stopped, even if Li-ion battery is not fully charged.

The normal charging time is too long.

Poor contact of EVSE plug due to outlet worn out or another issue.

(EVSE charge current is limited.)
  • Check outlet and EVSE plug.

  • Check by changing the combination of outlet and EVSE.

Nissan Ariya Vehicle limits charge Since vehicle may limit charge due to available EVSE, charge with different EVSE.
Quick charge cannot be performed. Charge connector is not connected correctly. Check charge connector for connection and lock.
Quick charger judged poor insulation Refer to Diagnosis Description.
Power switch is in the ON position. Before charging, power switch must be OFF position.
Li-ion battery is already fully charged.

No action taken.

NOTE:

Charge is not performed if Li-ion battery is already fully charged.

Blackout occurs during quick charge or power supply of quick charger is OFF. Check that power switch of quick charger is ON

NOTE:

Charging is stopped depending on the timer function setting of the quick charger.

Power supply to the quick charger is OFF. Check that the power supply to the quick charger is ON.
Normal charge connector does not lock. Charge connector lock is not set. Perform charge connector lock setting
Foreign material is caught in the lock pin of charge connector lock actuator. Remove foreign material.
Incorrect operation of release switch of normal charge connector while charge connector is connected

Disconnect once and reconnect charge connector.

NOTE:

When slowly releasing and pressing the release switch while charge connector is connected, the lock mechanism may interfere with the release switch.

Even if charge connector is unplugged, normal charge connector remains locked status. Charge connector is immediately disconnected. Status of door changes from lock to unlock. (Charge connector is also unlocked at the same time)
