Front Wiper Motor

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

• Controls front wiper operation with IPDM E/R control.

• Transmits front wiper stop position signal to IPDM E/R.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

Front wiper motor is operate front wiper.

COMPONENT OPERATION

• When a power supply is supplied to the HI terminal of the front wiper motor, as for the front wiper motor, HI operates a front wiper.

• When a power supply is supplied to the LO terminal of the front wiper motor, as for the front wiper motor, LO operates a front wiper.

• When there is a front wiper motor at the stop position, two points of contact in the front wiper are connected, and the front wiper stop position signal is grounded.

  

• When front wiper motor operates, two points of contact in the front wiper motor are not connected, and the front wiper stop position signal is not grounded.

• IPDM E/R detects the front wiper stop position signal from the front wiper motor to find out the front wiper motor position (stop position/except stop position).

  

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

Front wiper motor is attached under the cowl top cover.

Rear Wiper Motor

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

• Controls rear wiper operation with BCM control.

• Transmits rear wiper stop position signal to BCM.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

Rear wiper motor is operate rear wiper.

COMPONENT OPERATION

• When a power supply is supplied to the ON terminal of the rear wiper motor, the rear wiper motor operates rear wiper.

• When there is rear wiper motor at the stop position, two points of contact in the rear wiper motor are connected, and the rear wiper stop position signal is grounded.

  

• When rear wiper motor operates, two points of contact in the rear wiper motor are not connected, and the rear wiper stop position signal is not grounded.

• BCM detects the rear wiper stop position signal from the rear wiper motor to find out the rear wiper motor position (stop position/except stop position).

  

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

Rear wiper motor is attached to a back door.

Washer pump

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

Washer pump operates front or rear washer.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

Washer pump spray washer fluid depending on the state of the washer switch.

COMPONENT OPERATION

Washer pump changes polarity of the voltage to be supplied from a washer switch and change the rotatory direction of the washer pump and operate front washer or rear washer.

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

Washer pump is attached to the washer tank.

Washer level switch

NOTE:

Washer level switch is only applied in Canada.

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

Detects that washer fluid level is low and transmits washer level switch signal to combination meter.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

Detects that washer fluid level is low.

COMPONENT OPERATION

When washer fluid level is low, float goes down and washer level switch turns ON.

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

Washer level switch is attached to the washer tank.

Light And Rain Sensor

COMPONENT FUNCTION WITHIN SYSTEM

Detects water droplets on the windshield with infrared rays, and transmits the light & rain sensor signal to BCM via the light & rain sensor LIN communication line.

INDIVIDUAL COMPONENT FUNCTION

Detects water droplets on the windshield with infrared rays.

COMPONENT OPERATION

Light & rain sensor judges a wiping speed for front wiper by rain condition and the vehicle conditions. And it transmits the light & rain sensor signal to the BCM via the light & rain sensor LIN communication line.

COMPONENT PARTS LOCATION

Light & rain sensor is attached to the front windshield.
