DETAILED FLOW

INTERVIEW FROM THE CUSTOMER

Clarify customer complaints before inspection. First of all, perform an interview utilizing diagnostic work sheet and reproduce the symptom as well as fully understand it. Ask customer about his/her complaints carefully. Check symptoms by driving Nissan Ariya vehicle with customer, if necessary. Refer to Diagnostic Work Sheet.

CAUTION:

Customers are not professional. Never guess easily like “maybe the customer means that...,” or “ maybe the customer mentions this symptom”.

GO TO 2.

CHECK SYMPTOM

Reproduce the symptom that is indicated by the customer, based on the information from the customer obtained by interview. Also check that the symptom is not caused by fail-safe mode. Refer to Fail-safe.

CAUTION:

When the symptom is caused by normal operation, fully inspect each portion and obtain the understanding of customer that the symptom is not caused by a malfunction.

GO TO 3.

PERFORM THE SELF-DIAGNOSIS

With CONSULT

Perform “All DTC Reading”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Record or print self-diagnosis results and freeze frame data (FFD). GO TO 4.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

PERFORM DTC DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

With CONSULT

Perform confirmation procedures for the error-detected system.

NOTE:

If some DTCs are detected at the same time, determine the order for performing the diagnosis. Refer to DTC Inspection Priority Chart.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

GO TO 5.

NO>>

Check harness and connectors based on the information obtained by interview. Refer to Intermittent Incident.

REPAIR OR REPLACE ERROR-DETECTED PART

With CONSULT

  1. Repair or replace error-detected parts.

  2. Reconnect part or connector after repairing or replacing.

  3. When DTC is detected, erase self-diagnostic result for “All DTC Reading”.

GO TO 6.

FINAL CHECK

With CONSULT

  1. Check the "Values On The Diagnosis Tool" for "CHASSIS CONTROL".

  2. Recheck the symptom and check that the symptom is not reproduced on the same conditions.

Is the symptom reproduced?

YES>>

GO TO 3.

NO>>

INSPECTION END

Diagnostic Work Sheet

DESCRIPTION

  • In general, customers have their own criteria for a problem. Therefore, it is important to understand the symptom and status well enough by asking the customer about his/her concerns carefully. To systemize all the information for the diagnosis, prepare the interview sheet referring to the interview points.

  • In some cases, multiple conditions that appear simultaneously may cause a DTC to be detected.

CHECK e-Step SWITCH OPERATION

Check that information display in combination meter switched when e-Step switch is operated. Refer to System Description.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Diagnosis Procedure

NOTE:

The e-Step switch is integrated with the center console finisher.

PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

With CONSULT

Perform “All DTC Reading”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

Record or print self-diagnosis results and freeze frame data (FFD). GO TO 2.

NO-1>>

When there is a symptom: GO TO 3.

NO-2>>

When there is a not symptom: INSPECTION END

CHECK EACH SYSTEM

Perform the trouble diagnosis of system that DTC indicated.

>>

GO TO 10.

CHECK e-Step DISPLAY

  1. Power switch OFF and wait at least 1 minute.

  2. Power switch ON.

  3. By operating e-Step switch, turn ON/OFF e-Step function. Refer to Operation.

  4. Confirm that the e-Step display is displayed and that ON / OFF is switched. Refer to System Description.

Is the e-Step display displayed and ON / OFF switched?

YES>>

GO TO 10.

NO>>

GO TO 4.

CHECK DATA MONITOR

With CONSULT

Select “CHASSIS CONTROL”, “Data monitor” according this order, check the “e-Pedal VCM status”. Refer to Values On The Diagnosis Tool.

Is the “Malfunction” displayed?

YES>>

GO TO 9.

NO>>

GO TO 5.

CHECK COMBINATION METER

With CONSULT

Perform self-diagnosis for "COMBINATION METER”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

GO TO 6.

CHECK e-Step SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT

  1. Powe switch OFF (Auto ACC function OFF).

  2. Disconnect VCM harness connector.

  3. Disconnect center console finisher harness connector.

  4. Check the continuity between VCM harness connector and center console finisher harness connector.

  5. Perform the trouble diagnosis for center console finisher power supply and ground circuit. Refer to Diagnosis Procedure.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 7.

NO>>

Repair / replace harness or connector. GO TO 10.

CHECK e-Step SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

Check the continuity between center console finisher harness connector and ground.

YES>>

GO TO 8.

NO>>

Repair / replace harness or connector. GO TO 10.

REPLACE e-Step SWITCH

Replace the center console finisher. Refer to Removal & Installation.

CHECK VCM

With CONSULT

Perform self-diagnosis for "EV/HEV”.

Is DTC detected?

YES>>

GO TO 2.

NO>>

GO TO 10.

FINAL CHECK

Recheck the symptom and check that the symptom is not reproduced under the same conditions.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

INSPECTION END

NO>>

GO TO 1.
