Preparation. Reduction Gear

REDUCTION GEAR : Commercial Service Tools or/and Repair Part

Tool name		Description
Socket a: 8 mm (0.31 in) b: 5 mm (0.20 in)		Removing and installing drain plug
Oil seal remover		Removing side oil seal Removing shaft oil seal
Drift a: 55 mm (2.17 in) dia. b: 50 mm (1.97 in) dia.		Installing side oil seal
Drift a: 46 mm (1.81 in) dia. b: 40 mm (1.57 in) dia.		Installing shaft oil seal
Power tool		Loosening bolts and nuts

REDUCTION GEAR : Lubricant or/and Sealant

REDUCTION GEAR OIL : Exploded View

	Filler plug	Gasket	Drain plug

: N·m (kg-m, in-lb)
: N·m (kg-m, ft-lb)
: Always replace after every disassembly.

NOTE:

The tightening torque of filler plug is a reference.

REDUCTION GEAR OIL : Inspection

OIL LEAKAGE

Remove front under cover during working. Refer to Exploded View.

Check reduction gear surrounding area (oil seal, drain plug, and filler plug etc.) for oil leakage.

OIL LEVEL

Remove front under cover during working. Refer to Exploded View.

Check oil level from filler plug mounting hole as shown in the figure, after removing filler plug and gasket from reduction gear assembly.

CAUTION:

Power switch OFF while checking fluid level.

Oil level should be level with bottom of filler plug mounting hole. Add gear oil if necessary.

Set a gasket on filler plug and install it on reduction gear assembly.

CAUTION:

Never reuse gasket.

Tighten filler plug to the specified torque. Refer to REDUCTION GEAR OIL : Exploded View.

REDUCTION GEAR OIL : Draining

Remove front under cover during working. Refer to Exploded View.

Power switch OFF.

Remove drain plug and gasket, using a socket (commercial service tool) and then drain gear oil.

NOTE:

Removing filler plug can drain oil efficiently.

Set a gasket on drain plug and install it to reduction gear assembly, using a socket (commercial service tool).

CAUTION:

Never reuse gasket.

Tighten drain plug to the specified torque. Refer to REDUCTION GEAR OIL : Exploded View.

REDUCTION GEAR OIL : Refilling

Remove front under cover during working. Refer to Exploded View.

Fill with new gear oil until oil level reaches the specified level near filler plug mounting hole, after removing filler plug and gasket from reduction gear assembly.
